300 Yards To The Beach
The Beachcomber's closeness to the shoreline offers you a paradise for strolling and biking. shhh...one of our best kept secrets is our very special location - just a hop, skip and jump (300 yards) to the beach. From the Beachcomber you can walk and bike along stunning ocean side paths. We are directly across from historic Asilomar Conference Grounds. We are adjacent to the dunes and the beach. You can walk on the boardwalk to the Links at Spanish Bay and Asilomar State Beach. Down by our beach you can breathe in clean ocean air and take in very beautiful sunsets - bring your camera! This is a photographers paradise!
Bicycling
The Beachcomber Inn has complimentary bicycles available for you to explore great nearby attractions on the Monterey Peninsula. There is a bike path (click for 850K Win video) that goes past the Beachcomber. From our Inn it is an easy pedal north to historic Point Pinos Lighthouse, Pacific Grove Marine Refuge Park and Lover's Point Beach and Playground. It is an easy trek south to the scenic 17-Mile Drive and Pebble Beach. With more time and energy it is not too far in bicycle miles north to John Steinbeck's Cannery Row and Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey and South to Carmel-by-the-Sea.
Pebble Beach Equestrian Center
At the nearby Pebble Beach Equestrian Center, you can schedule a trail ride through the Del Monte Forest and sand dunes or perhaps a beach trail ride overlooking the rugged coastline. Throughout the year the Equestrian Center holds numerous horse show events.
Golf
The Monterey Peninsula is truly the Golf Capital of the World. Adjacent to our Inn there is seaside golfing at the Links at Spanish Bay, and several courses at world-famous Pebble Beach. Nearby in Pacific Grove is one of the country's most beautiful municipal golf courses - where tee times can be arranged for you.
Fancy Schmancy and Historical Car Events
Monterey Peninsula has automobile events held throughout the year. We have the NASCAR Winston West Series, Historic Automobile Races, Grand Prix of Monterey, Cherries Jubilee, all taking place at Laguna Seca Raceway. Locally we also have the British Car Meet, Concours Auto Rally, Blackhawk Collection of Classic Cars, and the Concours d' Elegance, where you can see classic as well as priceless automobiles from all over the world.
Backyard Sports, Recreation & Games
Our Innkeepers Beachcomber Bob and Arlene invite you to enjoy their very large and spacious backyard. There are picnic grounds with tables for up to six, a barbecue, a croquet green, space for volleyball and or badminton and horseshoe pits. Have Fun!
